O’s pitcher Bridwell debuts against Astros

BALTIMORE — The Orioles’ roster shuffle continued on Sunday morning, as the O’s recalled right-handed pitching prospect Parker Bridwell from Triple-A Norfolk to help add coverage in the bullpen.
Bridwell, the O’s No. 27 prospect according to MLB.com, made his Major League debut in the eighth inning vs. the Astros, striking out Evan Gattis to lead off the inning, and allowing a two-out solo homer to Jake Marisnick before completing his first big league inning. He also pitched a scoreless ninth.
“It’s very exciting. I don’t know if there are other words to describe it,” Bridwell said before the game of getting the news. “A lot of emotion. Excited. Been waiting a while and working my [whole] life for this.”
