Western & Southern Open 2016: Saturday Tennis Scores, Results, Latest Schedule

Saturday’s action at the Western & Southern Open was headlined by both the men’s and women’s singles semifinals as some of the biggest names in tennis took the court in Cincinnati.

Here’s a look at the day’s results:

No. 15 Karolina Pliskova Def. No. 4 Garbine Muguruza

Karolina Pliskova upset No. 4-seeded Garbine Muguruza in straight sets 6-1, 6-3 in a match that took just one hour.

Groeschen noted that at No. 17 in the WTA’s rankings, she became the lowest-ranked player to make this final since 2008.

Muguruza was able to build momentum with her service game, as she recorded five aces on the day while winning 20 of 28 first-serve points.
