O’s Despaigne sent back out after relief outing

BALTIMORE — After recalling right-hander Odrisamer Despaigne for Saturday’s game, the Orioles optioned him back to Triple-A Norfolk after the 12-2 loss to the Astros. Despaigne was called up to provide long relief, and he came on to allow four runs over three innings after Chris Tillman didn’t get out of the third inning.
The Orioles haven’t made a corresponding move, but it clears room for them to add another arm for the bullpen before Sunday’s series finale. Relievers have accounted for 14 1/3 innings the past two games.
