Valbuena has hamstring setback; season in doubt

BALTIMORE — Astros infielder Luis Valbuena had a setback with his strained right hamstring and was sent back to Houston to be reevaluated by team doctors.
Valbuena was working out in Baltimore with the hope he could begin a rehab assignment sometime during the current seven-game road trip.
However, Houston manager A.J. Hinch said Valbuena struggled to get through his latest workout Friday at Camden Yards. The hamstring had irritated Valbuena at a level the team had not seen in more than a week, and he was noticeably limping.
The more Valbuena rested and cooled down, the worse he felt, Hinch said. Therefore, the team decided it was best for him to head back to Houston.
