New Canoe Slalom Olympic Champions crowned in Rio de Janeiro

The Rio 2016 Olympic Games brought excellent canoe slalom racing in the Deodoro venue where the world’s best canoe slalom paddlers fought for the Olympic medals. Five days of excitement, two days of heats and three days of finals, brought new Olympic Champions even though some medallists from the previous Olympic Games once again reached the podium.

David Florence (GBR) made history winning his third consecutive silver Olympic medal. After C1M medal in Beijing he picked up two silver medals together with Richard Hounslow in C2 events of the 2012 London and 2016 Rio Olympics.
