On-base streak ends, but Werth gets job done

ATLANTA — Nationals left fielder Jayson Werth went 0-for-5 in a 7-6 victory over the Braves and saw his on-base streak end at 46 games, a franchise record he shares with Rusty Staub. It was also the longest such streak this season in Major League Baseball.
The streak may have ended, but Werth’s ninth-inning at-bat was one of the reasons the Nationals won.
