Avisail ready to test knee injury at Triple-A

CHICAGO — White Sox outfielder Avisail Garcia should be going to Triple-A Charlotte this weekend to begin an injury rehab assignment and test his sprained right knee. He was placed on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to Aug. 7.
“He should be going out here in the next couple of days,” White Sox manager Robin Ventura said. “He looks fine. In Cleveland, he was doing everything.
“It’s good to see him get out there and run and not feel any pain and there’s no swelling or anything like that. It would be nice to get him back and swinging a bat.”
Garcia was hitting .333 in August with three homers and six RBIs over 17 plate appearances.
