Wyndham Championship 2016: Friday Leaderboard Scores and Highlights
- Updated: August 20, 2016
Day 2 of the Wyndham Championship belonged to Si Woo Kim, who jumped up 40 spots to take the lead into the weekend after shooting a 60 on Friday to bring his 36-hole score to 12 under par.
Kim had a solid Thursday, shooting a 68, but he was far off the leaderboard and didn’t look like a factor. All that changed 24 hours later with a brilliant performance that included six birdies on the back nine.
Lucas Glover did not want to stay out of the spotlight, either, finishing the second round with a 61 to move into a tie for second place at 10 under overall.
Here’s the leaderboard from Sedgefield Country Club after the second round:
Kim seemingly could not miss anything Friday. He had eight birdies, one eagle and no bogeys and came within inches of nailing a 50-foot putt on his final hole that would have given him a 59.
The PGA Tour provided video footage of Kim’s nearly historic putt:

Instead, Kim was forced to settle for a 60 after making his next putt. He put himself in a bad position on the ninth green—he started the round on the back nine—when his tee shot went into the rough on the left side of the fairway.
PGA Tour Media noted Kim’s score put him in the record books:
