Lackey, Rondon headed to disabled list

The Cubs plan to place two of their most productive pitchers on the disabled list due to precautionary reasons. The resulting vacancies are expected to create roster opportunities for two of the club’s most talented pitching prospects.
Arm issues will land starter John Lackey and reliever Hector Rondon on the disabled list, MLB.com’s Carrie Muskat reports. The team has not announced the moves.
