Lausanne, Switzerland, August 18, 2016 – The FIVB’s official Facebook page now has more than 500,000 likes as the organisation continues to improve its digital presence across all platforms.
First established in the build up to the London 2012 Olympic Games, the page has gained 180,000 new followers in the last year alone and, during the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, has amassed just over 1,000 fans a day on average.
The growth on Facebook is just one part of the FIVB’s significant improvement on social media over the last few years. The organisation’s Instagram account now has 241,000 followers, growing by over 120,000 in the past 12 months. Additionally, the combined number of followers across the FIVB’s Twitter accounts sits at just over 260,000, a growth of 70,000 over the past year.
Partnered with the 110,000 new subscribers to the YouTube channel – thanks to streamed matches and behind the scenes videos – which takes the total number to just short of 160,000, and an increasing presence on VKontakte, Snapchat, Tencent Weibo and Sina Weibo, the total …
