Donaldson exits with jammed thumb in 6th

NEW YORK — Josh Donaldson was removed from Wednesday afternoon’s game against the Yankees following his at-bat in the top of the sixth inning because of a jammed right thumb.
Donaldson appeared to sustain the injury while grounding out to second base. He went into the dugout and was checked out by the club’s medical staff before officially coming out of the game.
