The opening round saw one of our top seeds, Khabib Nurmagomedov, make an early exit from the competition. Now, in round 2, it’s happened again. #1 seed Ben Askren fell victim to the upset bug as he was defeated by #5 Cain Velasquez, 36-32. Cain now advances to the Elite 8 as a 5 seed – we’ll see how long he can keep that run going.
Today let’s see if the curse of the #1 seed claims a 3rd victim, with #1 Daniel Cormier going up …
