Cards place Maness on DL, recall Tuivailala

HOUSTON — The rash of injuries continues for the Cardinals, who placed right-handed reliever Seth Maness on the disabled list on Tuesday ahead of their series opener in Houston. Right-hander Sam Tuivailala was recalled from Triple-A Memphis to take Maness’ spot on the active roster.
With the move, which is retroactive to Sunday, the Cards have now placed a dozen players on the DL since the start of July.
