Original Met Coleman passes away at 80

Former Major Leaguer Clarence “Choo-Choo” Coleman, a member of the expansion 1962 Mets, died Monday at age 80 after a lengthy illness, the club announced.
Coleman, a left-handed hitting catcher, played in parts of four seasons in the big leagues from 1961-66. After a stint with the Indianapolis Clowns of the Negro American League, Coleman signed with the Washington Senators in 1955. He was later released and signed with the Dodgers …
