Sheldon Rankins Injury: Updates on Saints DT’s Leg and Return

New Orleans Saints defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins suffered what is believed to be a broken fibula during Monday’s practice and will need surgery. It is uncertain when he will be able to return.

Latest on Rankins’ Timeline for Return Monday, Aug. 15
Adam Schefter of ESPN reported Rankins will undergo surgery and is “likely” to be sidelined “about six weeks.” citing a source. Schefter also spoke to another source who quoted a six-to-eight week timeline for his return.
Nick Underhill of the Advocate previously reported the injury is “not believed to be season-ending.”
