Medeama leaves it against Mazembe in five-goal thriller

Striker Kwesi Donsu scored in added-on time as Medeama toppled TP Mazembe 3-2 on Sunday in Sekondi, and boost their chances of a place at the last four.
Donsu scored the winner with virtually the last kick of the game after the host surrendered a two-goal lead. Medeama now have eight points, two behind Mazembe already qualified for the semis. MO Bejaia of Algeria has five points and Tanzania’s Young Africans in that order with four points.
The home side who badly needed the win to cushion their position ahead of the crucial ultimate Group A clash away to Bejaia in a fortnight, started the game in a comfortable and strong note taking in charge of possession.
The defence of Mazembe eventually cracked after countless pressure from Medeama and in the 32nd minute the first goal was scored.
A foul on Eric Kwakwa at the edge of the visitors’ penalty area led to a free-kick which Enock Atta Agyei delivered a long range shot that goalkeeper Sylvain Gbohouo failed to make a firm grab.
Upon resumption, Mazembe took the game to their hosts in search of the equalizer with the likes of Nathan Sinkala and Rainford Kalaba giving the Medeama backline some questions to answer.
But it was Medeama who doubled the lead against the run of play courtesy Moses Sarpong from the spot on 59 minutes after Issama Mpeko handled in the vital area.
