Schoop’s HR caps comeback as O’s stun Giants

SAN FRANCISCO — The Orioles wouldn’t go quietly on Sunday, rallying from a six-run deficit by scoring seven runs in the final three innings to defeat the San Francisco Giants, 8-7, at AT&T Park.

Matt Wieters went 5-for-5, but Jonathan Schoop highlighted the unrelenting comeback, blasting a two-out three-run home run into the left-field bleachers to give the Orioles the lead in the ninth. The homer off Giants closer Santiago Casilla came after Manny Machado reached via a base hit and Mark Trumbo drew a walk.

The Orioles’ rally spoiled a breakout offensive performance by the Giants.
