Home cooking: Porcello undefeated at Fenway

BOSTON — After earning his career-high 16th win of the season, Rick Porcello still has no idea what losing at home feels like this year. Backed by the Red Sox’s all-too-familiar powerful offense in a 16-2 win for a series sweep over the D-backs, Porcello improved to 12-0 at Fenway Park.
The right-hander received a lofty 9-0 lead thanks to an explosive homer-filled surge in the second against Arizona ace Zack Greinke. Even with the run advantage, Porcello dazzled by dealing seven innings of one-run ball.
Following Sunday’s win, Porcello is tied with Toronto’s J.A. Happ for the Major League lead (16).
“We had a tough series against New York,” Porcello said. “It was nice to come back and win three here. We have a long, important road trip for us, so it’s good to leave on a good note.”
