Marlins likely lose Stanton for rest of season

Marlins right fielder Giancarlo Stanton will likely miss the rest of the season with a left groin injury based on MRI results, manager Don Mattingly said after Sunday’s 5-4 victory over the White Sox.
Stanton was injured on the final play of Friday’s game, attempting to stretch a single to a double.
According to Mattingly, the results were serious.
