Sano slated to undergo MRI on sore elbow

MINNEAPOLIS — Twins third baseman Miguel Sano will undergo a precautionary MRI on Monday on his sore right elbow that has been bothering him for the last week. Although it is the same elbow that required Tommy John surgery in 2014, Sano is confident that the issue isn’t serious.
“It bothers me in the sense of the pain, but I’m not worried about anything being severe,” Sano said through an interpreter.
“I can feel whether it’s something big or not. From a couple years ago when I had the Tommy John, I felt a different pain.”
Sano said he started feeling the tenderness in his elbow while practicing his fielding during the Twins’ series against the Rays last weekend. The pain gradually evolved over the …
