Anderson, Weiss ejected after Franco HBP

PHILADELPHIA — Home-plate umpire Eric Cooper ejected Rockies left-handed starting pitcher Tyler Anderson in the fourth inning on Saturday against the Phillies at Citizens Bank Park, after Anderson’s pitch hit Phillies third baseman Maikel Franco in the left knee.
Rockies manager Walt Weiss also was ejected for protesting the ejection as lefty Chris Rusin warmed up to replace Anderson.
Franco had hit a three-run homer off Anderson in the first inning and had a celebration that involved stutter-stepping around third base, galloping to the plate, blowing a kiss to the sky before landing on the dish, pointing to the stands, and then skipping to the dugout while high-fiving teammates.
As far as anyone could tell, there were no warnings issued …
