Intentful India and sloppy West Indies combined to send the St Lucia Test hurtling towards a result despite a day lost to rain. Having given themselves a possible 87 overs to bowl West Indies out in, India took three of the wickets in 20 overs before lunch.
West Indies must know it shouldn’t have come to this despite all of India’s intent. With runs coming at under 2.5 an over in the first two innings, with one whole washed out day, West Indies shouldn’t have collapsed first, but once they did India shouldn’t have got their runs as quickly as they did in their second innings to give themselves so much time, especially because of the slow outfield.
