Hope all lost for Ahly after Zesco draw

Experienced forward Emad Meteab made his experience count scoring a late equalizer to help Al Ahly snatch a 2-2 draw against Zambian champions, Zesco in their Group A penultimate fixture on Friday in Suez.
The veteran, whose late goal won Ahly the CAF Confederation Cup title two years ago, was yet again to his side’s rescue with a superb strike five minutes to deny the visitors’ a famous win which could have extinguished the Red Devils hopes of a place at the last four.
Ahly, record eight-time winners, have five points from five matches, three behind Zesco, who assumed top spot of the group temporarily. Moroccan side Wydad Athletic Club who face ASEC Mimosas in the other Group A fixture later on Sunday trail on seven points whilst the latter has four points for their efforts.
With Zesco having an edge over Ahly via head-to-head, a win for Wydad on Sunday will almost decide the group and leave Ahly without any chance of a last four berth.
The Zambians led for a greater part of the match courtesy a first half brace from Kenyan import Jese Jackson Were with defender Rami Rabiaa scoring in between.
