PHILADELPHIA — Not hot weather, not the sideways fortunes of his team, nothing can rob Rockies leadoff hitter and center fielder Charlie Blackmon of the energy to hit.
Blackmon continued his powerful run Friday night during the Rockies’ 10-6 loss to the Phillies with the first three-home run game of his career.
In his last 14 games, Blackmon is batting .468 with six home runs, seven doubles, a triple, 13 RBIs and a 1.418 OPS. He’s driven in 12 runs in his last seven and has multiple-hit games in five of his last six.
