Davis, Alonso come up big against Mariners

OAKLAND — A two-run sixth-inning single by Yonder Alonso helped the A’s beat the Mariners 6-3 on Friday night at the Coliseum, snapping Seattle’s six-game winning streak.
The A’s scored three times and strung together five straight hits to begin the bottom of the sixth inning, including Alonso’s two-run single to right field, knocking Seattle starter Joe Wieland out of the game. Wieland, who was summoned from Triple-A just hours before the game to make a spot start, allowed singles to Marcus Semien, Stephen Vogt and Khris Davis to begin the inning, setting up Alonso. Danny Valencia followed with an RBI single.
