Jurgen Klopp hinted that Liverpool may trim their strike department before the summer transfer window closes but insisted they would not give any “presents” to other clubs.
Divock Origi, Daniel Sturridge, Roberto Firmino and Danny Ings are sure to play key roles in the 2016-17 season, but Christian Benteke has been heavily linked with a move to Crystal Palace, with Liverpool refusing to budge on their £32 million valuation of the Belgian, per Ed Aarons in the Guardian.
Speaking ahead of Liverpool’s tricky season opener against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, Klopp suggested his current group of strikers is too big, per the Liverpool Echo’s James Pearce:
Klopp: “Having 6 strikers is too comfortable. But we won’t be giving presents to other clubs.”

Mario Balotelli is still on the Anfield books and likely to be moved on before the end of the window.
