Jadeveon Clowney Injury: Updates on Texans DE’s Knee and Return

Houston Texans star Jadeveon Clowney “isn’t expected to practice during a joint practice session Friday with the San Francisco 49ers or play in a preseason opener Sunday at Levi’s Stadium” as he recovers from soreness in his knee, per Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle.

Clowney Expected Back ‘As Soon as Next Week’ Thursday, Aug. 11
Wilson noted the Texans are using caution with the outside linebacker, especially since he “has a history of knee problems and underwent microfracture knee surgery and surgery on his meniscus as a rookie.” Even with that caution, Wilson reported he could return to practice next week because he is “making steady progress.”
