Marlins skip Fernandez’s turn; Koehler to start Sunday

MIAMI — The matchup of All-Stars Chris Sale and Jose Fernandez will not take place on Sunday at Marlins Park after all. Instead, Miami will start Tom Koehler against the White Sox in the Interleague series finale.
As part of the Marlins’ innings plan for Fernandez, the hard-throwing right-hander is being skipped this turn through the rotation. Miami has the flexibility to tinker with its rotation because of Thursday’s off-day.
Koehler, who threw seven scoreless innings in a 2-0 win over the Giants on Tuesday, will remain on his normal schedule, getting four days of rest between starts.
For Fernandez, it was expected that he would skip one start after the All-Star …
