Hamonic at Home in the Woods

After dealing with family concerns off the ice and playing a long, hard season on it, Travis Hamonic had certainly earned a little R & R back home in Manitoba this summer.
That’s exactly where he went at the end of the season — his secluded cabin a few hours outside of Winnipeg, MB, to plan a wedding with his now-wife Steph, and spend his days fishing and hanging out with their dog Bauer. Cell reception is scarce and the brush is plentiful, which is just fine with Hamonic.
“Our life is hectic enough as it is, always on the go, so it’s nice to be able to get out to somewhere where you feel safe and comfortable and really just somewhere where you can kind of recharge your batteries,” Hamonic said. “It gives you a perspective on a lot of things, and you realize that you can appreciate a lot of different things. It’s a good place for me and my family to enjoy our time.”
