Frampton: Selby needs to wait

Carl Frampton wants to take on British rival Lee Selby in a unification fight but says it won’t happen until spring 2017 at the earliest.
The Jackal admits he is expecting a rematch with Leo Santa Cruz first due to the rematch clause in the deal for their recent WBA Super world featherweight fight in New York.
Frampton’s victory saw IBF holder Selby immediately call him out for an showdown before the end of the year, but the Belfast star says it needs to be in an open-air stadium and has set his sights on Windsor Park.
“It needs to be spring or early summer because it’s a stadium fight and a unification fight between two British world champions,” Frampton told Sky Sports.
