Ichiro passes Clemente on all-time hits list

MIAMI — From this point forward, each Ichiro Suzuki hit moves him closer to more MLB milestones. On Wednesday, in the Marlins’ 1-0 loss to the Giants at Marlins Park, the 42-year-old collected two more hits, giving him 3,002 in his 16-year big league career.
With his single off right-hander Jeff Samardzija in the second inning, Ichiro notched his 3,001st career hit, passing Roberto Clemente for 29th place all time. In the ninth inning, Ichiro blistered a two-out double to center off closer Santiago Casilla for hit No. 3,002.
