Wang & Yue gain elimination berth

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, August 10, 2016 – Fan Wang and Yuan Yue of China led from start-to-finish in posting their second Pool C win in the women’s competition at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games here Wednesday in eliminating Asian Continental Cup qualifiers Mariafe Artacho and Nicole Laird of Australia.
Wang and Yue, who were the last team to qualifying for the Copacabana quadrennial via the FIVB World Tour’s Rio ranking system where 17 pairs earned Olympic berths, scored a 2-0 (21-16, 21-11) win in 36 minutes over Artacho and Laird.
