Verlander-Felix showdown center stage on MLB.TV

Two Cy Young Award winners — Seattle’s Felix Hernandez and Detroit’s Justin Verlander — will meet on the diamond today as the Tigers and Mariners wrap a three-game series at Safeco Field.
The day’s full 15-game slate also features starts by the Mets’ Bartolo Colon, the Cubs’ Jason Hammel and the White Sox’s Jose Quintana as well as another installment in the American League East rivalry between the Red Sox and Yankees. All the action is available for streaming live on MLB.TV.

Verlander, Felix duel in Seattle: DET@SEA, 10:10 p.m. Today’s matchup will be the fourth meeting between Hernandez and Verlander. These 12-year veterans haven’t shared the field since April 17, 2009. Verlander enters the game on a roll; he’s 5-0 with a 1.66 ERA since the start of July. He got the better of another star pitcher, outdueling Noah Syndergaard in a win over the Mets.
