Gibb/Patterson looking to break another #6 seed curse against Spain on day five

Rio de Janeiro, August 10, 2016 – Jake Gibb/Casey Patterson of the United States will be looking to break another #6 seed Olympic Game curse against the #7 seed, Spain’s Adrian Gavira/Pablo Herrera to kick off the men’s competition on day five in pool F. All four teams in the pool have 1-1 records, so the winner will guarantee at least a 2nd-place finish in the pool and advance to the elimination stage. The losing team will have to wait for the tie-breaker to see if they finish 3rd in the pool or go home with a 19th-place finish.
