Ahmed’s hip impingement diagnosis confirmed

NEW YORK — The second opinion D-backs shortstop Nick Ahmed received on his ailing right hip Tuesday confirmed the initial diagnosis of an impingement.

Ahmed visited with Dr. Bryan Kelly, who works with the NHL’s New York Rangers.

“They’re talking about possibly a [cortisone] shot to relieve it,” D-backs manager Chip Hale said. “They’re going to decide exactly what the course of action will be.”
