Dani Carvajal’s dramatic extra-time winner secured Real Madrid’s second UEFA Super Cup title in three years as they beat Sevilla 3-2 on Tuesday night.
Sevilla looked set to triumph at the Lerkendal Stadion having overturned Marco Asensio’s stunning opener (21) with goals by Franco Vazquez (41) and Yevhen Konoplyanka from the penalty spot (72).
Sergio Ramos forced extra time with a close-range header in the 93rd-minute, and momentum swung completely in Real’s direction when Sevilla defender Timothee Kolodziejczak was sent off after receiving his second yellow card shortly after the restart.
