A-Rod to start Thursday, Friday in final 2 games

Alex Rodriguez’s farewell to baseball as a player will begin Thursday night in Boston, as Yankees manager Joe Girardi has announced that the designated hitter will start the finale against the Red Sox.
Girardi said that Rodriguez will not start in the team’s scheduled games on Tuesday or Wednesday, but A-Rod could be available to pinch-hit. Knuckleballer Steven Wright is scheduled to pitch for the Red Sox on Thursday in Rodriguez’s penultimate start.
