- Updated: August 9, 2016
Frank de Boer has reportedly ruled out selling Arsenal and Chelsea transfer target Mauro Icardi. The new Inter Milan manager has made it clear he intends to keep the Argentinian striker for the upcoming Serie A season.
In fact, De Boer, whose appointment was confirmed by a statement on Inter’s official site, revealed that he wants to retain the core of his current squad, singling out Icardi as particularly important, according to Neil McLeman of the Daily Mirror: “We’ll keep every player we don’t want to sell. Icardi is very important for me and he’ll stay. He’s young, he can learn a lot, but he’s already proven himself to be fantastic. We can work very well together, there won’t be any problems.”

The Gunners were recently linked with an audacious-sounding offer of £30 million plus Olivier Giroud for Icardi, per Luca Pessina of the Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Julian Cardillo of Gazzetta World, via Anthony Chapman of the Sun).
