Giombini & Menegatti record first Olympic win

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, August 9, 2016 – Laura Giombini and Marta Menegatti rebounded from an opening setback Sunday to post their first Rio 2016 Olympic win here Tuesday mid-day by defeating Doaa Elghobashy and Nada Meawad of Egypt in a Pool D match.
Competing in the same group with pairs from Germany and Canada, Giombini and Menegatti scored a 2-0 (21-10, 21-13) win in 38 minutes over Elghobashy and Meawad, who qualified for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games via the African Continental Cup competition.
