Twins trip up Astros in 5th to back Duffey

MINNEAPOLIS — Tyler Duffey threw six innings of one-run ball and the Twins took advantage of defensive miscues by Astros center fielder Carlos Gomez in the fifth with some timely hits to pick up a 3-1 victory over Houston on Monday night at Target Field.
Duffey and Astros starter Collin McHugh were locked in a pitchers’ duel for four innings before things came undone for the Astros in the fifth. Danny Santana capped a three-run outburst with an RBI single to score Juan Centeno, who was awarded an RBI triple on a ball Gomez lost in the sky — his second misplay of the inning.
