Here’s a look at top prospects to watch in Tuesday’s Minor League action:

Mejia streak watch: Indians No. 4 prospect Francisco Mejia aims to extend his 47-game hit streak as Lynchburg visits Potomac at 7:05 p.m. ET.

Hitter to watch: Jairo Beras (Rangers’ No. 13), High Desert at San Jose (10 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)

Beras has been on a power surge of late for Class A Advanced High Desert, having hit five home runs in his last 10 games entering Tuesday. The 21-year-old outfielder has swung a hot bat in 32 games since the All-Star break, posting a .266/.316/.532 batting line with nine home runs. For the season, Beras is hitting .249 with 17 home runs and 17 doubles through 83 games for the Mavericks.

Pitcher to watch: Jharel Cotton (A’s No. 16), Nashville at Round Rock (8:05 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)

Cotton is set to make his second start as a member of the A’s after coming over from the Dodgers at the Trade Deadline along with Grant Holmes and Frankie Montas in the deal for Josh Reddick and Rich Hill. The 24-year-old right-hander picked up the win in his first turn for Triple-A Nashville on Aug. 4, when he allowed one earned run and fanned five in six innings. Cotton has yielded 18 home runs in 103 1/3 innings, resulting in a 4.70 ERA, but he’s been otherwise solid, posting a 1.15 WHIP with 124 strikeouts and 33 walks in that span.

Duel of the day: Sean Newcomb (Braves’ No. 3) vs. Josh Taylor (D-backs’ No. 27), Mississippi vs. Mobile (8 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)
