Carambula & Ranghieri leading, but big challenge ahead

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, August 8, 2016 – With an earlier upset here Monday of top-seeded Alison Cerutti and Bruno Oscar Schmidt of Brazil by a team from Austria, Italians Adrian Carambula and Alex Ranghieri are alone atop Pool A in the men’s Beach Volleyball completion at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games after posting an evening win over a Canadian pair.
In posting a 2-1 (21-18, 14-21, 15-11) win in 60 minutes over Josh Binstock and Sam Schachter of Canada, Carambula and Ranghieri are unbeaten in their two Olympic matches with Alison and Bruno tied for second with Clemens Doppler and Alexander Horst of Austria with 1-1 records.
