Hendricks gets weekly NL honor with Ichiro

Cubs right-hander Kyle Hendricks’ breakout season now includes a National League Player of the Week Award, which he shared with Marlins outfielder and newest 3,000-hit club member Ichiro Suzuki.
Hendricks, 26, allowed only one run in 16 1/3 innings over two starts last week against the Marlins and A’s. He threw a seven-hit shutout against Miami on Aug. 1 and then tossed 7 1/3 innings of one-run ball against Oakland on Sunday, with his lone blemish a solo home run off …
