Bunce proves nice little earner

A review of the action from Ayr on Monday, where Linda Perratt was delighted to be back in the winner’s enclosure with Bunce.
Linda Perratt is hoping it is a case of onwards and upwards for the rest of the campaign after Bunce (9/1) provided her with a welcome winner when getting the better of a thrilling conclusion to the Racing UK In Glorious HD Handicap at Ayr.
The evergreen eight-year-old, one of three runners in the in the five-furlong dash for Perratt, ensured she had something to smile about when edging out Catwilldo by a nose.
She said: “It was a hell of a finish. Where I was standing, I wasn’t sure if he got it. He stuck his neck out and really tried.
“He was unlucky at Musselburgh three runs back, then next time there the ground was too quick and then he had a bad draw. The ground was right for him today and he got a strong pace which he needs.
“We had a bit of a virus and the horses are just taking time to come to themselves.
“We had 18 winners last year and we will probably struggle to match that as we’ve had a few injuries and not got some of the horses we had last year, but we will keep trying until the …
