Rio de Janeiro, Brazil – August 8 – The U.S. Olympic Men’s Water Polo Team came up short against Spain losing 10-9 in their second match at the 2016 Olympic Games. After going up 7-6 with 3:54 left in the third on a Bret Bonanni (Huntington Beach, CA/Stanford/NYAC goal, the United States allowed four unanswered as Spain built a 10-7 lead with 4:11 to play in the fourth quarter. A late rally from the United States wouldn’t be enough as Spain hung on for the one goal win. Merrill Moses (Palos Verdes, CA/Pepperdine/NYAC) went the distance in net stopping 10 shots. Team USA now falls to 0-2 in Group B action with France coming up on Wednesday at 11:40am/10:40am et/7:40am pt. The match will be LIVE on NBC at 10:40am et and on delay at 10:40am pt.
