He had a score to settle at this Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah — Kiel Reijnen walked across the stage 1 finish line disgusted with a late-race mechanical, but on Friday, he won the stage 5 sprint convincingly. Trek – Segafredo’s American sprinter was patient in the fast downhill run to the finish in Bountiful. He accelerated past an early jump by BMC’s Joey Rosskopf to win his second career stage at the Utah tour.
Axeon Hagens Berman’s Tao Geoghegan Hart was second, and Cannondale – Drapac’s Alex Howes finished third. For a second day, the race’s overall lead did not change hands as Jelly Belly’s Lachlan Morton, 24, finished in the bunch, wearing the yellow leader’s jersey.
