Bucs’ roster moves make room for Vogelsong

ATLANTA — To make room for Ryan Vogelsong on the 25- and 40-man rosters, the Pirates unconditionally released right-hander Wilfredo Boscan and sent Max Moroff down to Triple-A Indianapolis on Thursday.
Boscan, 26, pitched in six games (one start) for the big league club this year and posted a 1-1 record and a 6.46 ERA across 15 1/3 innings. But despite his struggles in the Majors, Boscan showed some promise with Indianapolis.
A year ago, the right-hander registered a 3.07 ERA in Triple-A. He followed that effort up this season with a 3.75 ERA in 84 innings.
