Perun Varna writes history by claiming first ever club championship title

Varna, Bulgaria, August 4, 2016 – Perun Varna wrote history on Wednesday evening by claiming the first ever National Club League title in Bulgarian beach volleyball. The champions remained unknown until the very last match of the season, but eventually Perun managed to win their home tie with Bojur Volley Bozhurishte by 3-1 match victories to claim the gold by a split hair on set ratio.
With the tie on the beautiful Black Sea coast running at two match wins for Perun against one for Bojur Volley, it was all down to the very last game to decide the champion. With a victory for Perun, the team from Varna would claim the gold; otherwise it would be Maritza …
