Serbia – Frank Robinson, new Partizan signing, talks to Eurobasket

FrankRobinson After failing to win any trophy over the past two seasons, Partizan will attempt to return to glory days despite modest -to say the least- financial means. New faces in their roster -so far- are Serbian national team player Stefan Bircevic, Djordje Majstorovic, Branislav Ratkovica and two Americans – Frank Robinson (college: CS Fullerton) and William Hatcher. Frank Robinson is a left-handed, 193 cm tall, 32-year-old guard coming from Compton, California. I love basketball. I love being around my teammates, playing in the loudest arenas all over the world and -most of all- I love to fight for my team. My strengths on the court are taking advantage of my athletic ability on defense and penetration for making plays, either to score or for my teammates. I am a very vocal player and love just going out there and having a great time competing to win every time. Even with the odds against my team, I want to win. I hate losing; when I lose I can’t eat or sleep after games. I try to do everything in my ability to win so I can eat and sleep normal. You played just 6 games last season – in Turkish second division. What was the reason for that?I went to Turkey in February because I hurt my knee while playing in South Korea during training camp in August of 2015. When I got to Turkey the team was in bad shape both on the court and financially. Coming off an injury I felt that it was better not to risk anything for a team who did not care for winning as much as I did. The team no longer exist now which proves my point…You played in many different countries, could you talk about best and worst experience in your pro career? I have played professionally for 8 years now. I’ve played at every level of basketball, starting with NBA training camp with Atlanta Hawks where I met coach Aleksandar Dzikic. From there I went to play for him in Ljubljana where I played my first season of Euroleague. That was the start of a well-traveled career. I’ve played in EuroCup twice, EuroChallenge twice, and another year of EuroLeague. I’ve played in Israel for three seasons, played partial seasons in the German BBL for two seasons and through my career I have played basketball in over 50 countries.
