Mets have no issue with Cespedes playing golf

NEW YORK — Still unable to play the field due to a lingering right quadriceps injury, Yoenis Cespedes returned to the starting lineup Wednesday for the first of five consecutive games as the Mets’ designated hitter.
Cespedes was out of the starting lineup for nine of the Mets’ previous 20 games, dating back to the initial injury he suffered July 8 against the Nationals. Avoiding the disabled list has always been the Mets’ priority for Cespedes, despite manager Terry Collins’ proclamation that he’s “not even close to 100 percent yet.”
“That’s why we’re trying to keep him off the field as best we can,” Collins said, estimating that Cespedes is playing at around 80-85 percent capacity.
